![]() * Funeral of band member Bill Fairlee at Christ Church Cathedral The band was on stand down from performing due to the precautions relating to the Covid 19 pandemic, so very limited events *Remembrance Day parade and mini band show at the Orleans Legion * joined with the Musical Ride for two shows for first responders at the Canadian Police College * Funeral of Toronto police Cst Northrup in Toronto * Canada Day performance at the Orleans Legion The band was still on stand down from performing due to the precautions relating to the Covid 19 pandemic * led the Canada Day parade in Merrickville, the Remembrance Day parade at the Orleans Legion and a celebration of the Hawkesbury Legion’s 75th anniversary ![]() This was a morale booster event for that area, which was still without power after a storm ravaged the area in early May * street parade for the Manordale Knoxdale Community Association. * Represented the RCMP at the funerals of Police Officers killed on duty in Toronto, Halifax, Barrie and New Westminster * joined the Musical Ride for a performance for His Royal Highness Prince Charles and Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall and at the revival of the Sunset ceremonies – See Details * Attended the Ontario Police Memorial in Toronto and the National Police Memorial in Ottawa * performed at the Inaugural National Capital Highland Games * performed in Massed Bands at the 15th Basel Tattoo in Switzerland – See Details As is normal for this band, there were new performances on the schedule some exciting and some very sad Band members participated in training of Police Service Horse Noble prior to her presentation to His Majesty King George III – See DetailsĪs life began to return to “normal” the pace of events for the band picked up and more of our regular events were back on the schedule.The band presented a concert at Orleans United Church in April to a sell out crowd.In May, a 42 member composite band visited the Netherlands for 10 days, to participate in celebrations of the 78th anniversary of the Liberation from Nazi occupation in 1945 – See Details.Represented the RCMP at the funerals of Police Officers killed on duty in Barrie (OPP Cst Grzegorz Pierzchala) in January, Trois Rivieres (SQ Sgt Maureen Brault) in April and Ottawa (OPP Sgt Eric Meuller) in May.Paraded with the Ottawa Police Service Pipe Band at four Sunset ceremonies with the RCMP Musical Ride at the Canadian Police College in Ottawa.Piped for the Change of Command ceremony on 25 May where Commissioner Mike Duheme took over command of the RCMP from Commissioner Brenda Lucki. ![]() May 27 and 28, performed for the RCMP Veterans’ Association ball, then the Memorial service at Beechwood both events to mark the 150th anniversary of the RCMP – See details. ![]() Appointed two Pipe Sergeant Emeritus and promoted two Pipe Sgts – See details.Two band members assisted with the Change of Command of V Division in Iqaluit, Nunavit – See details.Watch our Social Media for more information This is the 150th Anniversary of the RCMP, so many events are on the band’s schedule.
